Saw this yesterday. Had slightly more action than the original, but preserved that artistic feel of the first. Beautiful to watch. Highly recommend. Very long however, so book some time off to see it.

Book time off? Jesus what kind of work schedule do you have that you need time off to go see a movie?

EDIT: After writing that I realized I'm in day 7 of a 13 day work week, and will effectively have 1 day off in 3 weeks.

It's three hours long so plus transit time I can't really fit it in on a work or schoolday but yesterday was a holiday.

I don't mean quite take an entire day off, but at three hours, presuming you have to travel it is a pretty large time commitment for a day. Probably doable on a workday, just kinda needs to be the only thing you plan to do outside of work that day. Wrong phrase, but right concept haha.

Thinking about going with a flatmate to watch it on Saturday - is it worth it?

I saw it on Saturday, loved it, the synth music was glorious as well as the scenery of the cities and wasteland.

Although my one complaint was not the movie but the movie theatre, a ceiling tile or fan was rattling when the bass was bumping in the movie and really ruined the scenes, don't go to university heights Fergus ever.

I really liked it, but there was just something about it that just didn't make it great.

Uni heights is my “I’m too lazy to get on a bus to a real theatre” theatre.
Yeah, I enjoyed it pretty thoroughly

I felt the exact same, to me it was some plot holes, like when deckard gets kidnapped but joe gets left behind after killing several men but not getting put down himself.

Also the ending, felt as though the synthetic underground was just introduced to do... Nothing?

Also can't wait for ai/synth sexy time in 2049.[\SPOILER]

I've been looking forward to this, was worried it would be a shitty Harrison Ford rehash like Crystal Skull Vodka but the reviews I've seen have been promising seeing as I loved the original (directors/final cut obv).

I didn't realize this was literally a spoiler.

I did agree with the underground thing, but I thought the point about leaving him alive was to show that she had some sort of attachment to him, or that she was enjoying the sadism. Hence the oddness of their fight on the beach.

I wasn't quite sure if i got what the movie wanted to say. There wasn't really much of an action in the movie. Much like the original. I almost feelt like i had to see it again to be sure.
Idk if it really offered much else than the first like AI are people, that was basically it.

I saw it today and I was really impressed. Although based on trailers and promotion I expected Harrison Ford to have more screentime.

I wasn't as wowed by the cinematography as I was expecting, not that it wasn't quality as it does have its moments. It's a very slow movie, and one that I think is more enjoyable in retrospect when you can read about it rather than watch it. The scale of the story is also quite small like the original, smaller in some ways (no murder of the corporate boss), bigger in others (the replicant underground group existing). K's true identity and his reactions as he has new revelations and what his actions mean in the context of having a "soul" was also good storytelling.

I must be the only one here who doesn't like it and thinks it is boring, very slow paced and generally not really interesting.

The music was a bit much at times.
