Greece 1.6a released!

    You can download the map here. It is uploaded to MMH and ENT as "Greece 1.6a". There are some technically small but significant changes that are bound to affect the flow of the game and old strategies. I encourage you to try new strategies with defense, cavalry, and navy instead of sticking to the old meta.
    Buffed Cover of Darkness spell (Temple of Artemis) from 30 to 40% miss chance.

    Changed Sanctuary of the Great Gods mana regeneration rate from 0.10 to 0.05, and initial starting mana from 25 to 0.

    It no longer costs gold to revive heroes.

    Hero revival time set to always be 60s. Before it was 60s minimum and increased up to 120s max depending on hero level.

    Removed Homeland Aura from the Refugee Encampment.

    Polis’ can now train Militia and Light Infantry.

    Fixed a bug where you could attack Megara when you owned the city.

    Ranged units can no longer rank up with veterancy.

    Capitals and Refugee Encampments now sell Transport Ships as a usable item for 300g, 50l.

    The Transport Ship item can now be dropped.

    Expanded south map size from 245 to 250, west map size from 244 to 250

    Ferry points have been added, where if you set your Transport Ship on a target ferry point, a waygate is established between two preplaced points.

    Current connections: Dardanelles crossing. Anatolia to Lesbos. Rhodes to Anatolia. 3 connections of Euboea to Greece. Epirus to Kefalonia.

    Reterrained the island of Corfu and added the city of Korkyra to it.

    Adjusted position trees/doodads south of Sparta to give more space and help against a south landing.

    Removed lots of rock tile to make it so you can wall/block chokes as needed.

    Made Athens, Persia and Argos a bit more grassy.

    Added the city of Urganli to the west of Persia.

    Added the island of Chrysi south of Crete.

    Added the island of Gavdos and the city of Kastri south of Crete.

    Added the city of Heraion to the far east of Thrace.

    Added the city of Aegion to the northwest of Argos along the coast.

    Smoke Bomb gold cost changed from 750g to 250g.

    Fixed hotkey of Siege Warfare upgrades to be Q, not A.

    Changed Clerical Arts level 1 upgrade to cost 300g from 600g, 200l instead of 450l.

    Changed Clerical Arts level 2 upgrade to cost 550g from 800g, 400l instead of 600l.

    Changed Clerical Arts level 3 upgrade to cost 800g from 1100g, 600l instead of 450l.

    Changed Royal Training level 1 upgrade to cost 250g from 500g.

    Changed Royal Training level 2 upgrade to cost 350g from 800g.

    Changed Royal Training level 3 upgrade to cost 450g from 1100g.

    Changed lumber cost of Priests from 10l to 0l.

    Changed Workshop gold cost from 700g to 400g.

    Turned Corinth from a Town to a Polis, it will start with 75% HP.

    Starting camera height changed from 1650 to 2300.

    Removed 2 patches of farmland from Macedon.

    Removed 2 patches of farmland from Epirus.

    Removed 2 patches of farmland from the far northwest area.

    Removed 4 patches of farmland from Thessaly.

    Added 3 patches of farmland to Persia.

    Moved the farmland west of Sparta to the south of the city.

    Catapult attack range increased to 600 from 550.

    Catapult minimum attack range decreased from 250 to 0.

    Catapult armor type changed from Unarmored to Leather.

    Poseidon’s Wrath (Tornado) now lasts 40s instead of 30s.

    Added new models for Craftsmen, Militia, Academies and Sentry Towers

    Edited the Barracks model to remove the trees

    Sentry Tower gold cost changed from 500g to 400g.

    Changed Hippeus train time from 7s to 4s.

    Changed supply costs of all Cavalry to 1 from 2.

    Changed supply costs of all Elephants from 3 to 2.

    Replaced Thessalian Heavy Cavalry with Myrmidons, who have the same atk/def type.

    Heavy Cavalry HP changed from 310 to 285

    Light Cavalry gold cost changed from 140g to 145g.

    Turned Lefkas (by Epirus) into an island as it should be instead of being a peninsula.

    Strength of Zeus no longer gives 1 bonus armor.

    War Pig Flames now deals 6 DPS from 3 DPS.

    Changed King collision size from 20 to 15 to match other infantry units.

    Moved Buthrotum south to more a geographically accurate position.

    Fixed the name of a duplicate city named Buthrotum to be named Passaron.

    Ram can no longer target “Friend” type units.

    Changed gold cost of Trojan Hoplite from 155g to 140g.

    Reworked Athenian Diplomats’ Inspire ability to autocast when the Diplomat kills an enemy unit.

    Inspire damage boost changed from 10% to 5%.

    Inspire duration changed from 25s to 10s.

    Cut 3 seconds from the loading introduction.

    Made it so the multiboard is created before the intro ends.

    Added MarcusMaxentius and Metafrost to credits

    You basically made everything cheaper and faster in resume everything more OP. Its a very unfriendly version for new players but its nice to see the map updated.

    Lol the polis building militia and shit is a huge meme , why would you not discuss that idea with us before implementing it? Like, you basically completely change the game entirely by doing that, and all you've done there is hurt players who don't have immediate access to farmland (thrace, persia, Thebes).

    logic behind this change please?

    LOL cav from 2 food to 1? holy fuck this is gamebreaking gg this is a huge meme version i will wait for updated fixes

    A lot of these changes are newb friendly, why do you think the opposite?
    • Cavalry were huge newb bait for players at the start of the game, the 2 supply cost would destroy them. Most people didn't use them mid to late game when food capping themselves wasn't a concern, so if they're suddenly OP, they were always OP. They're still fat units which is their main downside and why they rarely worked out. If this doesn't help I may as well remove them from the game for how underused and newb baity they are. Ignoring the counter system, they're still less gold efficient than Militia/Light Inf, and only somewhat better than Hoplites/Heavy Inf.
    • Losing a barracks is less game ending for newbs, there's now less incentive to go kamikaze on a barracks as well
    • Losing a hero is less punishing
    • Ferry system, while you do have to learn it, means you need less mechanical skill to deal with the clunky navy system
    • Walls are a bit more viable in actually being able to block off certain chokes instead of always leaving a hole

    Horrible changes EagleMan.. perhaps it's time to host hacked version of 1.5dfixed since apparently you removed official 1.5d
    Anyways you can be sure that i won't host your new version ever, i won't even try it in custom game just as jim said

    And not only this is the issue you even made cav 1 food you should've just made its collision size smaller maybe boost it a bit idk
    But yeah congrats on ruining the map
    I lay all my hopes now in cell's upcoming huge suggestion post.. perhaps he reasons you

    I dont dislike the general changes made, but I have to say there are some changes that really feel odd/strange or arent really necessary.

    Will write a more extended opinion later on

    okay i played this briefly.

    Most important thing - there is a ton of bugged farmland it seems. For sure, one patch in north macedon is bugged and the entire patch to the west of thrace is also bugged (says cant build on it). I'm sure there are others, not sure why this would happen but yeah.

    Militia change seems okay but I honestly don't feel it's made the game more noob friendly, it's just increased the pace of the game/lets me econ faster. I think you should have workshop unlocked from the start as well.

    Did not get far enough in to try out the new cav changes but i assure you that a 1 food change is OP, cav were 2 food for a reason and so without a corresponding stat nerf you will see this be problematic no doubt.

    can you go back to the old peasant model? i really don't like the new model and its even harder now to find your peasants lol

    Make it back so heroes cost gold and normal revival time and apparently they learn exp much faster then in 1.5d
    delete ferrypoints
    Return to ordinary ''expensive'' price for all upgrades and buildings cost which you lowered
    Return deleted farm spots to Macedon Thes and Epirus
    Make HIppeus train 7s again and give them leather armor type
    Pigs are way too op now make their dps 4
    I think this is it i can withstand other changes and i almost forgot make Corinth a town once again and stop with this madness making light inf trainable from city states

    Alright some of that definitely sounds like you're just reading it and reacting to it, like Hippeus train times were completely absurd relative to train times for other units.

    Okay 4s works too i guess it's not that much of relevance like other novations you added .. so my questions is are you going to make map what it was before you implemented those blitz changes

    That's the issue with changes though, when you react to stuff like that in that way, how am I supposed to know you put in more or less thought for the other changes? Experience gain wasn't changed at all for example.

    Like for militia Trench reacted with anger and then quickly turned around to "it's just okay", not an endorsement, but certainly a moderation of opinion once he actually saw it in game.

    It'll be reverted for now, I'm about to test the farmland since the patches you mentioned don't sound like anything I touched and they appeared fine in the test game, but may be different somehow in the protected copy.

    I'll revert Militia for now but I think in the future I'll explore a trigger to add the unit to Polis' after the food cap has been lifted.

    it says 'must build on fertile land'
